WORLDCOMP'12



Two papers related to my M.Sc. thesis have been accepted as regular research papers for publication and oral formal presentations at WORLDCOMP'12.

I would like to share with you our big experience at SAM'12 (11th International Conference on Security and Management) and DMIN'12 (The 2012 International Conference on Data Mining). Our oral presentations at WORLDCOMP 12 were very successful.


ESDeseo compartir con ustedes nuestra gran experiencia en SAM'12 y DMIN'12. Las ponencias en WORLDCOMP'12 fue ron muy satisfactorias.


The titles of our oral presentations were: "A statistical approach to reduce malware inside an Information System in Banking Sector" (SAM'12) and "Classification and Regression Trees for Handling Missing Values in a CMBD to reduce malware in an Information System" (DMIN'12).  The topic was how antivirus scans (medical tests) can be dosed,   in our population (computer network), for the   reduction of malware (diseases) incidence in a banking Information System.

 ESLa pregunta de investigación fue: ¿Cómo el escaneo de virus informáticos puede ser dosificado en una red de computadores para reducir la incidencia de virus informático en un sistema de información bancario?

  

The Kaplan-Meier method is used for estimating the survival function from life-Time Data. To use this strategy we define the following outcome: Elapsed time to first malware infection in a computer. In this study we believe that malware level depends on variables such as Processors (number of processor in the computer), Computer_Age  (Operating time), Browse_Time. (Web surfing time), and Class (Laptop, desktop or server).

ESLas curvas de Kaplan-Meier son usadas para estimar la función de supervivencia. Para usar esta estrategia, definimos el evento de interés como el tiempo transcurrido hasta la primera infección por malware en un computador. En este estudio, creemos que el nivel de virus informático depende de variables como: número de procesadores del computador, tiempo de operación del computador, tiempo de navegación en internet desde el computador y el tipo de computador (portátil, de escritorio o servidor).
